I. Overview of the Specialty
The BrainHeart Health Management Clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China officially opened on April 28, 2020. It was jointly established under the leadership of the departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery,Rehabilitation. The clinic leverages the hospital’s reputation as a “Tertiary Hospital’s Stroke Center”a “National Stroke ScreeningPrevention Base Hospital” to build a more standardizedregulated stroke preventiontreatment system. Through early screening, risk assessment,lifestyle interventions, the clinic aims to reduce the incidence of stroke, hypertension,other cerebrovascularcardiovascular diseases, achieving the goal of “preventing disease before its onsethalting progression once it occurs.”

III. Scope of Services
The clinic participates in the stroke preventiontreatment network system, providing comprehensive screening for high-risk populationsintegrated management of cerebrovascularcardiovascular diseases.
1.Conduct stroke screeningassess patients for stroke-related risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes,hyperlipidemia,identify individuals at high risk for stroke. Provide targeted health educationfollow-up management for low-, medium-,high-risk patients to help control these risk factorsreduce the incidence of stroke.
2.Provide follow-up management for patients who have experienced a stroke, implementing secondary prevention measures to reduce the rates of stroke recurrence, disability,mortality.
