I. Overview of the Specialty

The Breastfeeding Specialty Clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China was established in 2018. Integrating clinical care, teaching, research,rehabilitation guidance, the clinic is dedicated to breastfeeding consultationguidance. It is the first breastfeeding nursing specialty clinic in Hengyang. Consultations are provided by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC)breastfeeding instructors certified by the Ministry of Human ResourcesSocial Security of the People’s Republic of China.

2. Breastfeeding guidance for mothers with illnesses including chronic diseases, infectious diseases,other infections.

3. Breastfeeding support for breast-related conditions such as nipple crackingpain, nipple confusion, mastitis, breast abscess, blocked milk ducts,nipple white spots (milk blebs).
