On November 30, 2023, the awarding ceremony of the National Nursing Science Popularization Education Base of the Chinese Nursing Associationthe 2023 Training Course on Improving Scientific Communication Ability were held in Beijing. During the event, the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China was awarded the National Nursing Science Popularization Education Base of the Chinese Nursing Association.

The National Science Popularization Education Base is set up by the China Association for ScienceTechnology to give full play to the enthusiasm of all sectors of society in science popularization work, utilize social science popularization resources, carry out science popularization education activities for the public,actively advance a socialized, mass-oriented,regularized approach to science popularization, so as to serve the implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating the country through scienceeducationimprove the scientificcultural literacy of the public.implement the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Popularization of ScienceTechnology and the Outline of the Nationwide Scientific Literacy Action Plan (2021-2035), the Science Popularization Education Base of the Chinese Nursing Association was established to encourage the participationsupport of all sectors of society in health science popularization work,to arouse the enthusiasm of nursing sciencetechnology workers to participate in science popularization work.

National Nursing Science Popularization Education Base.

In recent years, the Nursing Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China has trained a group of outstanding nursing science popularization workers. Through multiple forms such as health lectures, micro-video broadcasts, mobile APPs, science popularization free medical consultations,Nightingale volunteer services, a series of health science popularization activities have been carried out. These activities have extended disease health education to communities, schools,remote areas, helping the public improve their ability to preventtreat diseasesenhance their scientifichealthy literacy.

The hospitals approval as the National Nursing Science Popularization Education Base of the Chinese Nursing Association not only affirms its capabilities in nursing science popularizationcommunication, but also places higher requirements on its future nursing science popularization efforts.
